Lore

I started doing musicc stuff around 2013 when I did my first experiments in recording DJ mixes with Atomix VirtualDJ 7 (yikes) and eventually making my own tracks in LMMS 0.4.x (more yikes), initially on Windows, then later on Linux after realizing how much better its audio ecosystem was.

The part that is worth writing about starts with my first album, Dark Matters. Released under the DJ Pixus name in 2020, it was a compilation of my least embarrassing early works. Although the full album is no longer available in any form, you may still find some pirated reuploads if you really want to suffer. It was mostly experimental house-like tracks.

Shortly after that, I changed my artist name to Steve Pixus, because I wasn't actually DJing anymore. For a year or two, I released several tracks under this name, some in the old experimental house style, some trance, and some other random things. It was about the time when I migrated all the musicc to a dedicated musicc channel on YouTube (thus confidently zeroing out all the stats).

After realizing that making ridiculously different tracks under the same name is confusing af, I eventually created the Trancwolve alias somewhere in 2021. The exact meaning of this name depends on your mindset, but it's somewhere between "to transform and evolve" and "a wolfy who makes trance UwU". Since then, I use Trancwolve as my primary alias for trance and the like, and Steve Pixus for "the rest".

Preceded with some procastination and teasing, my second big release was Tranc Musicc (very creative title, I know) in 2022, which is a collection of trance tracks from this era. (That is why the credits of those tracks are so confusing.) It's safe to say that Your enormous amount of love and support was my primary motivation to finally finish the album, so I felt it right to release it under a CC-BY license.

Of course I didn't stop there, and although after a smol break and with a slightly reduced momentum, I continued making new tracks, this time going for slightly more comfy vibes again (this doesn't mean no more hard bangers though). I also started doing occasional live DJ sets on Twitch. I also occasionally make tutorials and low-effort videos about Linux audio stuff or random braindead ideas.

2024 brought another small fuzzbuzz in the form of Tranc Musicc 2024 Remaster, which is excactly what it sounds like: An imporved(?) rework of the album, utilizing a shiftload of technical experience I picked up since the original release.
